Norwegian Woodcarving Traditions Demonstration

North Dakota artist Jim Paulson of Skanderna Wood Works, LLC will give a public demonstration on the art of doing low relief style carving that dates back to the 12th century in Norway. Paulson will show how basic carving tools like gouges, v tools, and knives were used to carve depictions of mythical creatures resembling horses, lions, serpents, and dragons.
